Rental Cars and Short Term Car Insurance
If you are going on a short trip, you may want to
consider hiring a car to get you around. This is
much more cost-effective than taking a cab
everywhere, especially if you are going to be
traveling multiple times throughout the day. By the
time you have taken two cab rides, you will have
paid as much as you would pay to have a rental car
for one day. The car also gives you a good amount of
convenience since it will be right there when you
need it; you can use it on your schedule, whether
that means driving to and from the airport or driving from a
meeting to a restaurant and then back to your hotel.
However, you will not want to do this without short
term car insurance.
There are a few different ways in which this works.
Some rental car companies will give you the option
to purchase a plan when you purchase the car. This
is often very easy since all of your payments can be
put together. You will just have to pay a little bit
more each day to have the coverage that you need.
This is also easy to do because you do not have to
think about getting in touch with a separate company
to set things up. Anything that can make a business
trip easier and simpler should be seen as a benefit.
Other times, the coverage that you already have on
your own car will transfer over to the rental car
for a short period of time. If you have full
coverage at home, you will also have full coverage
on your trip. This can be very easy because there is
no more paperwork to fill out, but it does get a bit
more complicated if you are involved in an accident.
Then you will have to work with both your insurance
provider and the car company to get everything done.
This can be difficult and time-consuming. All
insurance policies are different, too, so it is hard
to know if you have the coverage that you think you
do. To keep things from being this complicated, and
to make sure that you really are covered, it might
be a good idea to get the extra short term car
insurance policy when you hire the car in the first
place.
No matter what, it will be a good idea to have
coverage on a rental car. You are more likely to
crash when you are driving these cars for a number
of reasons. First, you might not be used to the
vehicle. You will not know exactly what it needs for
a stopping distance, where the blind spots are, or
how wide of turns you ought to take. Second, you
will be driving in a city or a town that you are not
familiar with. Even if you have been there before,
that is not the same as driving in the town where
you live. These two things combined can make a crash
very likely.

bit, do you want to see a complete spoof on short
